The Arabian oryx is an extremely resilient inhabitant of some of the hottest desert environments on the Arabian Peninsula. Like the camel, they can go without water for periods of up to 4 months. Its predominantly white coat helps reflect the desert sun and they can tolerate temperatures that vary from 40 ̊C to 6 ̊C.
