The natural world provides an opportunity to connect to something bigger than ourselves. I root my art practice—painting, drawing and photography—in beauty and the tender graces and unfolding possibilities of nature.
Dynamic lines, energy flows and fields of color in the living world inspire me as I walk in my San Francisco neighborhood. Life broadens into something intricate and nuanced as I wander streets, cliffs and beaches.
The lush hues and elaborate patterns provide a sense of familiarity, honesty and wonder. This spilling open to beauty leaves a lasting impression and multiple viewpoints that permeate my abstract and representational work.
Allow these images to serve as an introduction to some of my ‘neighbors,’ whose incredible intelligence I am only beginning to understand.
Our lives transform in moments; we just have to look for them.
