BIg Sky by Marlene Sinicki

The Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay anchor my home. From above, it is a peninsula, the edge of a continent. Ocean waves take on many forms as they travel across the planet to my neighborhood.

Pulsing with aliveness, I experience the repeated chorus of waves as the planet inhaling and exhaling.

Guided by winds, swells alternately glide and soar, skip and barrel, lunge and plunge. At the same time, glints of sunlight embroider deep waters that crease and twist like ribbons.

Fresh air and the repetition of waves at uniformly varying intervals of motion relax my mind. I rediscover nature at its very best.

Sea foam, with its ever-changing constellation of molecules, reminds me that tiny compounds can change the world.
